Case description
This mandibular 3rd molar (#48) has a very complex canal morphology, with alternating tapers and extreme curvatures.
Once the orifice to the canals was opened, the only instrument that was used in this case is the Self-Adjusting file, as both rotary instruments and hand files were unable to adapt to the curvatures of the root canal. The flexibility of the SAF enabled to treat the canal according to the original morphology, and the final x-ray photo shows how this morphology was maintained.
